WELCOME TO ARAL

AI-driven Robotic Assistant for Logistics

Developing and deploying the next generation of European Physical AI Platforms capable of executing high-variability logistics tasks in human-centric warehouse environments

One Robot.
Several ways to Help.

The main goal of this project is to have a single embodied system that can safely navigate dense layouts, interact with existing industrial equipment and shelving, and manipulate a wide variety of objects and payloads in environments made for humans.

End-user Driven
Use Cases

Consolidate core fashion-logistics use cases with the end-user in mind, tackling the biggest challenges in logistics and consolidating robot tasks where they are needed most.

Works in Spaces Designed for Humans

Dense aisles, hanging rails, busy packing stations. The project uses the biped KANGAROO platform to integrate directly in spaces designed for humans without costly adaptations.

The Warehouse Helper to Improve Work

Directly targets repetitive and physically demanding warehouse tasks—where manual labor accounts for 50% to 70% of operating costs, improving operator ergonomics and safety

Warehouses were built for people. So we built a robot that fits right in.

Behind every order and every store delivery are people lifting, hanging, folding and moving, shift after shift. ARAL brings them a capable new teammate: one that adapts to the warehouse as it is, so nobody has to rebuild it around a machine.

About KANGAROO

The chosen solution is the KANGAROO robotic platform. Designed and manufactured by PAL Robotics, this biped robot is meant for agile mobility and manipulation tasks, with a footprint that integrates easily in spaces made for humans

Agile ArchitectureUnique leg design and architecture enables low-inertia and leg-mass optimisation for dynamic navigation

Anthropomorphic DesignA fully symmetrical, anthropomorphic design enables maximum workspace with a smaller footprint

Compliant ManipulationTwo 7 Degrees of Freedom arms and interchangeable end-effectors to execute heterogeneous logistics tasks

Physical AIMulti-modal perception and VLA-based task reasoning, translating high-level goals into robot actions

Where we start

Feasibility and Validation

KANGAROO is already a robust platform. The use case is being tested and validated in the PAL Robotics lab

Phase 1

Out in the Real World

Taking the solution into the real world, validating performance and task execution in end-user warehouses

Phase 2

Ready to Scale

Pilots across multiple logistics centres, then an industrial, certified robot ready for commercialization.

Made in Europe. Built for the World.

The ARAL project is being led by PAL Robotics. A company that’s been redefining service robotics since 2004. Our commitment to enhancing people’s quality of life through robotic solutions expands across areas, countries and use-cases such as this one.

Barcelona

PAL Robotics has been building humanoid robots in Barcelona since 2004, with more than 20 years of experience in legged robotics and customers in over 35 countries.

ARAL has been submitted to the European Innovation Council’s Advanced Innovation Challenge.

Let’s build it together.

Whether you run a logistics centre, build automation, research embodied AI or simply want to follow the journey, we’d love to hear from you.
